SNAILS AND SLUGS – GASTROPODA

Snails and slugs are not generally photogenic, nor are they considered to be interesting photographically; however, the closer you get to them you are able to see their quite fascinating anatomical details. Depending on the sunlight, it is intriguing to me how they can be almost transparent with little to no bodily divisions at all.

Aside from having bodies that are difficult for humans to call “cute,” they are critical for clearing away rotting vegetation and provide food for birds, frogs, and beetles.
